Casting Molded Polyurethane & Urethane Seal

Polyurethane seal can be machined or casting molded or injection molded. At Shanghai Pepsen, we have been manufacturing casting molded urethane seal since 2004 in China. Based on drawings or samples as well as information about working environment from clients, we can develop and fabricate your seals quickly. Our in-house design and testing capabilities as well as experience of material/formulation selection assure us fulfill customers’ needs effectively.

4 Meters Diameter Polyurethane Seal Available

Duo to the capacity of injection machine and expensive molds, polyurethane seals made by injection are usually not big, but for some projects, large diameter seals are required. With the big capacity oven as well as several casting machines, Shanghai Pepsen is capable of providing not only small urethane seals but also seal with the diameters as big as to 4 meters. The mold cost is also much lower.

Casting Is Slower But Better

The material of casting polyurethane is thermoset polyurethane while the raw material of injection is thermoplastic PU (TPU), different molecular structures lead to different physical properties. Physical properties of thermoset polyurethane are much better than TPU except elongation at break. Due to much longer de-molding time and post-curing time, casting is much slower but a better option in most cases.

Versatile Formulations and Production Process

Shanghai Pepsen can produce molded polyurethane seals for both small and big quantity. Taking the advantages of using multi-cavity molds and small/medium/big compression molding vulcanizing presses, we can cast different size urethane seals economically. With in-house large lathe and CNC lathe, we can machine large diameter and complex polyurethane seal in low cost.
