Band saw tires can also be engineered with different urethane formulations. For example, if you frequently cut through extremely hard materials, a harder urethane compound can be used to increase the tire's abrasion resistance. If you need more flexibility for cutting softer or more delicate materials, a more elastic urethane can be selected.

The absence of a joint line can also contribute to smoother operation and potentially better blade tracking, as there is no seam to interfere with the blade's path around the wheel.
